What inspires us every day? We've been talking about it in great detail since The Outlierman's inaugural year, giving modern Gentlemen Drivers our vision and exclusive creations, infused with a passion for motoring and 100% Italian fine craftsmanship.
With equal passion, we disclose it around Milan to Three20pm, the magazine created in collaboration with Bentley Motors, telling its spirit and philosophy.

“Why The Outlierman”?
Andrea Mazzuca: “The first pages of this story start from the very pages of a book. I was eleven years old and in London when my aunt gave me Outliers: The Story of Success by Malcolm Gladwell, and in the meantime I was getting hooked on British cars, with their extremely elegant lines and sporty DNA at the same time. A few years later I would have one of my own - realizing my “little British dream” - as well as the knowledge that my passion for the automotive universe did not end there, but was destined for something bigger.
Going back to that book, Malcolm explains how success is not just an innate ability but a combination of several key factors such as environment, culture, luck and hard work: all of which - cultivated with the ability to make them our own - can propel us to excel. This is well known by “Outliers”, those “outliers” who know how to make the most of opportunities, standing out for something extraordinary.
When years later, in 2015, I re-read the book, it was just the time when the project of a brand of high-quality driving gloves, bags, accessories and clothing dedicated to the world of driving was taking shape. It wasn't long before I realized that Outliers and Gentlemen Drivers shared the same values: pursuit of quality in every detail, desire to stand out, dedication to one's passion.
This is what The Outlierman is all about: a brand for out-of-the-ordinary explorers, for those who seek the ultimate taste of life and find it on an exclusive and authentic road all their own”.

“What was the next step?”
Andre Mazzuca: “….in the meantime, I went in search of the best craftsmen who would be able to shape the accessories and driving gloves, thus discovering a world of tradition and excellence entirely made in Italy. Our workshops, in fact, arise in Italy's centers of excellence for stylish accessories, in places like Naples and Como, global symbols of unparalleled quality and craftsmanship. From here, collaborations with prestigious, internationally renowned realities were born: we are still today style partner of Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance and the 24 Hours of Le Mans - for which we celebrated 100 years with an exclusive collection - as well as having created a Limited Edition Capsule Collection for Pagani and for MINI John Cooper Works”.

“What challenges and rewards are involved in maintaining high standards of craftsmanship in the production of luxury accessories?”
Andrea Mazzuca: “To make our products, we choose fine leathers and silks, characterized by a grain or yarn of particular quality and beauty, capable of further enhancing the style and exclusivity of our creations. To this, we add careful research into the coloring of the products, which are derived from a specific study of the colors of the interiors and exteriors of cars of the past. The entire manufacturing process - and the creative process upstream - requires constant effort because in a superior handcrafted product even the smallest detail has a specific function, practical and aesthetic at the same time. As complex as it is, we have chosen to travel in tune with the image of a modern Gentleman, exuding passion for driving and a desire for unique style. It is always a challenge to hold this intent high and recognizable, but the results so far pay off the sacrifices and hard work”.

“What ties The Outlierman to a city like Milan? What do you see or where do you see yourself when thinking about the future of the brand?”
Andrea Mazzuca: “Milan is a visionary, innovative and trend-setting city. It has been my home for several years, although I travel often for work and passion. As one of the four fashion capitals-along with Paris, London and New York - it offers continuous inspiration and endless possibilities in a variety of fields, professional and creative. It's a crossroads of people, cultures and experiences that somewhat resembles the soul of the brand because it looks to the future and embraces tradition while continually evolving. A bit like all our creations, united by a refined attitude and fine Italian craftsmanship, but all unique and exclusive, designed and rethought to push beyond the quality and aesthetic standards already explored.
Where do I see myself in a few years? Well, I hope to still be aboard this formidable Bentley, first of all. And then I hope to see The Outlierman stand out in the wardrobes of the “gentlemen of the future” and continue to distinguish itself as a style benchmark in the automotive scene, collecting valuable new collaborations within leading international events.
Who knows what new stylistic traits will emerge in the meantime. On our part, there will certainly be no lack of passion, worldwide vocation and constant desire to celebrate automotive legends through distinctive style”.
