Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance® gave us an unforgettable month of August and September is going to be full of motoring passion in pure Gentleman Driver style as well. Back to Europe, we have made a list of events dedicated to classic cars that we would never miss. Do you want to know which ones?
Goodwood Revival • September 8th-10th • Goodwood, GB
The golden era of motoring legends will live again in all its glory during the three days of Goodwood Revival, where a vintage dress-code is a must and the historical taste guaranteed.
Hundreds of rare and priceless cars, driven by champions of the past and present, will arrive at the spectacular Earl of March’s Estate in West Sussex to attend one of the last and most exciting wheel-to-wheel races in the world, defying the laws of speed to win one of the most desired trophies in vintage motorsport.
Jochen Mass, Tom Kristensen, Derek Bell, Jakie Oliver, Giedo van der Garde, Jean Alesi and Darren Turner are just some of the great names of worldwide racing announced for the 2017 edition, which this year also takes the motoring passion in the sky with a concours of elegance reserved to aircrafts made before 1966 gathered to celebrate the 10th anniversary of Freddie March Spirit of Aviation.
Chantilly Arts & Elegance Richard Mille • September 10th • Chantilly, F
The fourth edition of Chantilly Arts & Elegance Concours is going to be more impressive than ever, conceived and organized as an elegant journey through the past, present and future to gather the very best of motoring art in the shade of the princely Chantilly Castle.
Not one but three competitions will animate the schedule of the event: the Concours d'Etat, a wonderful open-air car museum reserved for collectors from all over the world; the Concours d'Elegance, where technology and design come together in the name of the famous French art de vivre; the Grand Prix des Clubs, which brings together the most iconic car of the last century, according to brand and nationality.
This year, the event is celebrating Ferrari’s 70th anniversary with an exceptional retrospective retracing Maranello’s history at the Le Mans 24 Hours. Some 30 significant cars that have taken part in the race will be on display on Le Nôtre’s lawns at the chateau.
International Motor Show Germany • September 12th-24th • Frankfurt, D
The 67th edition of IAA Cars, the Frankfurt Motor Show, is the event that you shouldn’t miss if you want to discover the potential iconic cars of the present and future, which will be presented as world premiere. Brands such as Bentley, Bmw, Bugatti, Ferrari, Jaguar, Lamborghini, Maserati, Mercedes, Mini, Porsche will present their latest news to an audience of enthusiasts that – in the 2016 edition – counted more than 900,000 visitors.
With 120 years of history among the world's leading automotive events, the Frankfurt Motor Show offers collateral initiatives of pure driving passion such as “The Wild Seventies”, an exhibition of classic cars built in the decade during which the celebration of the individual – and consequently the concept of customization of the set-up – has lived a real revolution.
“Automania”, the international exhibition for car model collectors, is instead addressed to detail lovers and scheduled for September 16th-17th with more than 50 exhibitors from all over Europe.
Concours d'Excellence International 2017 • September 16th • Lucerne, CH
For the third time the Nationalquai, the elegant Lucerne lakefront, will be the scene for a refined car gathering reserved to classic four wheels. The 2017 edition features a special showcase dedicated to Italian style and, specifically, to the Alfa Romeo brand. A selection of historical and unforgettable models produced by the Milanese brand – including many C6 – will be available to Gentlemen Drivers’ curiosity.
The idea of dedicating an exhibit to the protagonists of the Bern Grand-Prix is also inspired by the great glories of the past. The Swiss circuit has been among the most internationally renowned but it was closed following the tragedy at the 1955 24 Hours of Le Mans, when Switzerland decided to ban motor racing on its territory. On that occasion, the Formula 1 Championship lost in fact one of its longest tracks (7,280 m), dangerous and really challenging.
Not only racing, but also a lot of refinement: the judges of Lucerne Concours d’Excellence will be spoilt for choice with wonders built from 1928 to1975 attending the event!
The Blue Train Challenge 2017 • September 18th-22nd • Deauville, F
In the 1920s and 1930s, heyday of the legendary Train Bleu, motoring the length and breadth of France was an adventurous undertaking and one to savour. Today, The Blue Train Challenge is an imaginative new Endurance Rally Association event from the same thoroughbred stable as the highly successful Flying Scotsman and Alpine Trial.
Designed from the ground up for enthusiasts with pre-1948 Vintage and early post-war “Riviera Sports Cars”, the Blue Train will re-capture that nostalgic 1930's age when pioneering motorists set out to beat the famous Train Bleu on its journey across France from the English Channel to the Cote d’Azur.
Along the way sporting action is provided with regularity and time control sections - navigated by way of easy to follow tulip instructions and marked maps. Special tests on private land add spice to raise a head of steam and, as ever, the ERA's legendary sweep mechanics will never be far away to help overcome any mechanical difficulties.

Lista molto interessante!
