Amelia Island Concours d'Elegance • March 10 • Amelia Island, US
Postponed due to bad weather conditions, the 23rd edition of the Amelia Island Concours d'Elegance promises a good dose of splendor. The 2018 edition will host cutting edge prototypes and great classics: among the firsts, Jaguar Electric E-Type and INFINITI Protoype 9 Concept will take on the track the evolution of the motoring world, while among the milestones of car history it will be possible to admire an Auburn's V-12 Speedster signed by Gordon Buehrig, a 1961 Jaguar XKE prototype, the Ford Mustang Fastback series # 8Ro2S125559 from the movie Bullitt (1968) and the recent restoration of the 1968 Shelby Lonestar “Cobra III”.
Now in its third decade, the Amelia Island Concours d'Elegance is among the top automotive events in the world. Always held the second full weekend in March, "The Amelia" draws over 300 rare vehicles from collections around the world to The Golf Club of Amelia Island and The Ritz-Carlton, Amelia Island for a celebration of the automobile like no other.
Geneva International Motor Show • March 8-18 • Geneva, SW
Among the events you can not miss, The International Geneva Motor Show is certainly among the most influential and coveted events dedicated to automotive technology and innovation. The 88th edition of the Swiss event will host 180 exhibitors, 110 European and World premieres, 900 cars on display and something like 700,000 spectators and experts.
During the ten days of the Geneva show you will also be able to attend the ceremony of prestigious awards including "Car of the Year", which in 2018 was attributed to the Volvo XC40. This coveted prize is awarded annually by a jury of 60 journalists from 23 European countries.
Alpine Classique • March 16-18 • Chamrousse, FR
"The Alpine Classique" is an annual rendezvous that welcomes numerous Gentlemen and Ladies at the Chamrousse ski resort to enjoy the timeless appeal of classic cars, ski slopes and pleasant conversations inside a breathtaking mountain setting.
Among the many hosted attractions, we especially recommend the selection of vintage cars and motorcycles, all built between the 30s and 60s. To close the celebration of the 50th anniversary of the 1968 Olympic Games in Grenoble, the event will in fact give the opportunity to relive the history of winter sports from the first hesitant traces of the pioneers of the 30's, to the more modernist and sharpened style of the late 60's.
Coppa Milano-Sanremo • March 22-24 • Milan, IT
112 years after its first edition in 1906, the Coppa Milano-Sanremo returns with a historical re-enactment to the delight all classic car enthusiasts. This year's edition includes the participation of 100 cars built between 1906 and 1976, to which will be added the cars of the Maserati Tribute built from 1977 up to the present day.
The 2018 edition will be accompanied by no less than 20 titles of honor that will award the first 10 crews in the overall rank, the first 3 for each category, the first 3 in the average tests, the first team, the first under 30 crew.
