Style, a selection of classic British cars to take your breath away and the scenery of the Swiss Alps to enhance it all: Gentlemen, last weekend we went to the British Classic Car Meeting and we have a lot to tell you about.
The British Classic Car Meeting is one of the most exclusive car gatherings in the world: only 99 automobiles rigorously built across the Channel are allowed. Every year, the cars involved parade through the streets in the center of St. Moritz, creating a spectacle that is rare to see and impossible to forget for those who, like us, have a thing for the British style of yesteryear.

The event got underway on Saturday July 10 with the usual regularity race that saw the glorious engines whizzing on a 160-kilometer scenic route between hairpin bends and the Albula, Berinina and Maloja passes.
Entitled Italian Job Rally, the automotive rendezvous of the 2021 edition was inspired by the cult movie “The Italian Job”, directed by Peter Collinson in 1969 and starring the great Michael Caine. A concentrate of British sportsmanship, style and humor.

The next day the atmosphere shifted to the refined tones of a Concours d'Elégance. In the garden setting of the Suvretta House, some of the most graceful models from British manufacturers came together: Aston Martin, Austin-Healey, Bentley, Jaguar, Rolls-Royce, as well as Alvis, MG, Morgan, Riley and Triumph.

In this landscape of timeless icons, the judges chose to give the “Best in Show” award to a 1935 Jaguar SS1 while the “Best Dressed Team” award went to a 1926 Rolls Royce 20HP and its elegant crew.
For the occasion, we also chose to enrich our outfit with refined references to historic rallies, wearing a Gentleman Driver pocket square and a DB5's Portrait silk scarf, both in the shades of green as a tribute to the season and location. A touch of 100% Made in Italy style in this riot of British icons.
