The Porsche 911 is a sports car that has been produced by Porsche since 1963. It was developed to replace the Porsche 356, it had to implement the new 6-cylinder boxer engine, it had to be air-cooled and have 4 places, but also have the same stylistic approach of the previous model.
Starting from a prototype developed by Butzi Porsche, grandson of Ferdinand Porsche, and af-ter a long and complex work of refinement, it was initially presented at the Frankfurt Motor Show names Porsche 901, later renamed to Porsche 911. The first 911 was a 2+2 coupe, with rear wheel drive, 4-wheel disc brakes, independent suspension and 4-speed manual transmission.
In 1966, Porsche decided to work alongside the coupe of the ‘targa’ version, with a removable hardtop. Although it has underwent notable changes, this model is still produced by Porsche. The S version differs from the basic version by a series of changes which guarantee greater power.
