After years of hard work, dozens of prototypes and more than 6,000 hours of development and laboratory testing, the RM UP-01 Ferrari was born, an ultra-thin Limited-Edition watch of only 150 pieces, a testament to the best know-how of these two iconic brands.
The base plate and bridges of the RM UP-01 are made of grade 5 titanium, a biocompatible, highly resistant and lightweight alloy that allows for a case only 1.75 mm thick, making it one of the thinnest watches ever. Its one-piece construction ensures unparalleled solidity, with water resistance to a depth of 10 meters, while all components are crafted with one-micron precision, thanks to the skill of the master craftsmen in the Richard Mille movement department.
The elegance of the case is emphasized by the satin-finished details of the case back and bezel, whose polished edges create a pleasing contrast. Laser engravings of the famous prancing horse and other references give the watch a touch of exclusivity.
At the center of the RM UP-01 Ferrari's bezel, like a precious gem set in a ring, is the function selector. With a simple touch, the selector allows you to choose between winding and adjusting the hands, enabling optimal performance in any situation. But the RM Up-01 Ferrari is more than just beauty and state-of-the-art technology: it is also a watch that is appreciated for its functionality. Thanks to the winding crown located between 7 and 8 o'clock, you can wind the barrel with ease, while the regulating crown, located between 10 and 11 o'clock, allows you to set the time quickly and accurately.
And there's more. To ensure extreme durability and absolute protection from the elements, the RM Up-01 Ferrari features two black ceramic inserts around the crowns. These inserts not only give the watch an extraordinarily elegant appearance, but also ensure its water resistance and durability.
Thanks to a collaboration between engineers from Audemars Piguet Le Locle and Richard Mille, the new RM UP-01 Ultraflat defies physics with a caliber that pushes the limits of thickness without sacrificing time accuracy. The new escapement is able to significantly reduce the thickness of the caliber while maintaining the high standards of the conventional Swiss anchor escapement. In a conventional lever escapement, the dart and safety roller are the main components that make this mechanism so bulky. But the new patented ultra-flat escapement of the RM UP-01 Ferrari completely eliminates these parts, instead moving the banked function directly to the anchor fork.

How was this miracle of engineering possible? Simple: the anchor fork was lengthened and its horns modified, allowing the bank function to be placed directly on the fork itself. Thanks to this stratagem, the dartless anchor is significantly reduced in height, making the RM Up-01 Ferrari one of the most elegant and technologically advanced ultra-flat watches on the market.
