Over 200 classic cars, illustrious guests from all over the world and a warm ocean breeze are the main ingredients of the 67th Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance®, the final event of the Monterey Car Week, an appointment that no Gentleman or car enthusiast would miss.
We were there, of course, excited spectators and proud creators of the exclusive collectible tie that The Outlierman designed as a style partner of the event!
A tie with a unique design as the icons by which it's inspired: the masterpieces of the Italian car manufacturer Isotta Fraschini, a historic brand active between the 1900 and 1949 that the Concours decided to celebrate in this 2017 edition.
Isotta Fraschini 8A, Isotta Fraschini 8A Roadster, Isotta Fraschini Race: cars loved by style virtuosos such as Gabriele d’Annunzio and Rodolfo Valentino. Today their shape decorate the collars of Gentlemen just as refined: from the Concours’ judges to VIP guests of the event.
Can you imagine our emotion when we saw our silk creation on the neck of absolute idols such as Valentino Balboni, Nick Mason, Raj Nair, Richard Adatto, Jochen Mass? Derek Hill – Master of Ceremonies – worn it on the Concours’ runway, the one on which winning cars of the different categories parade.
Like the 1929 Mercedes-Benz S Barker Tourer named “Best of Show”. A rare model with a “boat tail” body that won against 204 contestants from 15 countries and 31 American states.
The winning car ripped the title from exceptional opponents such as the other two finalists: a 1932 Packard 906 Twin Six Dietrich Convertible Victoria and a 1957 Ferrari 315 S Scaglietti Spyder owned by the legendary Sir Jackie Stewart, with whom we had the pleasure to chat during the event.
We had our national pride moment with the announcement of three of the Elegance Awards winners: a 1936 Lancia Astura Pinin Farina Cabriolet for the “Convertible” category; the 1957 Alfa Romeo Giulietta Sprint Speciale Bertone Prototipo among the “Closed Cars” and the 1953 Ferrari 250 MM Vignale Spyder in the “Sports Car” category.
You cannot buy class, especially Italian one. A quick look at the selection of Ferraris gathered to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the Prancing Horse was enough to have yet another confirmation. Names and shapes that have written the history of the car and leave you breathless still today.
On perfect days like this, one emotion leads to another. Therefore, among the cars on display and the Pebble Beach RetroAuto™ exhibition spaces, we had the pleasure of shaking hands with some Gentlemen who chose to wear our accessories for the occasion! Putting a face to the name of our customers will certainly remain among the indelible memories of our second and unforgettable experience in Pebble Beach!

As usual: mouthwatering pictures, very nice post! The Isotta tie looks great. However, not a tie wearing guy, I would love to see the design on a pocket scare or scarve. Keep up this great work!
