Welcome 2019... and welcome back car events! After the pit-stop for the holiday season, we are ready to get back on track to inaugurate the new year with a calendar of automotive dates dedicated to all driving and motoring enthusiasts.
Gentlemen, here are the car events on which we suggest you to direct the headlights in January 2019!
Tokyo Auto Salon • January 11-13 • Tokyo, JP
The largest and most important Japanese automotive event is warming up the engines to surprise us with a thrilling blend of the latest motor trends, launches, customized model presentations and extra lively and fun contents in pure Rising Sun style.
Opened in 1983 as “Tokyo Exciting Car Show”, Tokyo Auto Salon is now a major event hosting more than 800 cars in the great space of the Makuhari Messe International Convention Complex, including leading Japanese car manufacturers and foreign car importers, as well as tire and after-market brands.
Rallye Monte-Carlo • January 22-27 • Monaco, MC
With a 40% renewed path thanks to the addition of the Vallée de La Blanche as great innovation, 16 special stages and 4 blocks, the 87th Rallye Monte-Carlo promises to maintain high its prestige with a race to the last acceleration in an uncommon location.
The official start is scheduled at 18.50 from Place Desmichels in Gap. During this first night leg there will be two all-new special stages for a total of 41.35 kilometers: “La Bréole / Selonnet” and “Avançon / Notre-Dame-du-Laus”. A great final for the race is awaited on Sunday, with the cars launched toward Monaco through the legendary Col de Turini and Col de Braus.
Winter Marathon • January 24-27 • Madonna di Campiglio, IT
Two stages, 65 time trials (an absolute record for the event) and a renewed path of 420 km with 11 Dolomite passes: the Winter Marathon invites us to a 4-day tour of high speed between Madonna di Campiglio and Canazei. The start is scheduled for January 24 with the night stage through the Val Rendena, while the next day the race will take the most famous routes and passes of Trentino-Alto Adige with the picturesque drive on the Dolomites at sunset.
The two spectacular events on the frozen lake in the center of Madonna di Campiglio are confirmed and reserved to pre-war cars and the first 32 classified of the Winter Marathon. As usual, the Winter Marathon is reserved for cars built by 1968 and a narrow selection of cars of particular historical and collectible interest built by 1976.
Rallye Monte-Carlo Historique • January 30 - February 6 • Monaco, MC
Just three days after the end of the Monte-Carlo Rally, the biennial appointment with the Rallye Monte-Carlo Historique is back, this year in its 22nd edition. As always reserved for the cars that raced in the Monte-Carlo Rallye Automobile in the golden years between 1955 and 1980, the 2019 edition stands out from the previous ones for a renewed path that returns to include departures from big cities like Milan and Athens.
At the end of the race, as per tradition, a refined au revoir will be given to the participants and enthusiasts with the gala and the award ceremony at the Salle des Etoiles du Monte-Carlo Sporting Club.
Dear Gentlemen friends, pack your bags and warm up the engines: 2019 has just begun, but is already full of excitement!
